SLC's Mutual Commitment Registry is now open but according to QSaltLake, only one couple has registered (the fabulous Brandie Balken and her partner Lisa LeDuc.) So hey, where's the love? Do you plan to register or do you know anyone who has? If not, how come? What is the general feeling about the registry out in the Gayborhood?

Well, the fact that you have to have a lot of common financials is a barrier imho. I'm sure plenty of couples will sign up as it gets more publicity.
Like the first poster commented, you basically have to be upper middle-class to even begin to qualify for all of the financial factors. It's ridiculous that so many things are required of gay couples that never would be asked of hetero couples. I know they say that these things need to be provided as proof that the couple is really gay, and really committed. However, it's not like you're going to see hundreds of hetero men signing up for the Commitment Registry just to get the benefits.
Congrats to SLC for giving benefits to gay couples, but making sure that it's only granted to those gays who financially affluent enough to reap the rewards.
um i am not going to sign up. this is just how the holocaust started. put your name on the list...then move to a certain place....then wear this....you know how it goes. i can see this is trying to go in the right direction, but its not for me
QSalt Lake reported that there are now 5 couples listed on the registry. I'm guessing we'll start to see higher numbers as people become more aware of the registry and the advantages of signing up.
