The City of West Hollywood has helped to fund a new show called In the Moment. This is the first episode and I'm interested to hear what you think of it. Watch at home as its probably not safe for work. Does it relate at all to Salt Lake's gay scene or would you say we are more conservative? I hear a lot of stories about guys being pressured not to use condoms in (and out) of relationships.

i don't find that the episode portrayed someone being persuaded into not using a condom. The gentleman in question hardly resisted. Perhaps this is more so reflective of the americanized glutinous intake of what ever pleasure stimulus they so choose.
I think that the characters could be in some ways related to men in SLC as well as all communities that thrive and have a large gay populace. I find that no matter where i have lived men and woman continue to laugh,joke,flirt and have sex whether protected or unprotected.
I constantly had to remind a friend of mine that even though he just had a dick stuck in him for only a few seconds does not mean that negates the risk factors. It is this balance of being educated and ignoring training or common sense in the face of a passionate moment. A Sex Study at UC Berkely proved that men make poor decisions dependent on the level of heightened sexual response in themselves. Some would chose more kinky sexual acts than they indicated on their intake survey, these would increase the closer the subject got to ejaculation.
It is a tough road to travel down when exploring sexuality and sex based stimulus, which is why i feel that more education needs to be made before the age of puberty to ensure the proper mental priming of school aged children so that as teens and adults they make decisions out of habit than choice. Unfortunately this also reeks of totalitarianism where we would force then subvert a generations ability to choose what they risk in regards to their sex practice.
Perhaps its more sociological. The coupling of the male paradigm with the gay identity. Males have been known at least socially to court disaster as a means to overcome adversity. The gay community is often times seen by outsiders as living outside of societal norms with the pressures that that can entail there is a certain amount of casual play with the notion of death. When the act of coming out can be seen in some states or areas an open invitation to be hassled or even put to death one has to draw the parallel. Having both of these dichotomies inside of us makes for a combination that could search for a thrilling and dangerous split second decision. After all the French call the orgasm "the little death"
I would absolutely say this is typical of Salt Lake's gay scene. Gay or straight caution goes out the window when people are in the throws of passion. This is exactly how I was infected 3 years ago. Someone I thought really cared about me lied. He said he was negative and I believed him. Perhaps it was foolish of me but at some point you have to trust in a relationship. Obviously my trust was premature.
I'm glad to see a new method of delivering an old message. There's a reason new infections are on the rise in Salt Lake.
Interesting yet classical portrayal of the GLBT community, throw a little chemical dependencies into the mix and you’ve got yourself one happy family. Having been there, done that; I’d be interested in seeing a story about recovering from living a life less than balanced. I’m not necessarily talking about chemical dependency recovery, just recovering as a whole.
But then again, what makes the money and gets ratings are what matters; right?
Being in a gay relationship can be complicated at times.
Gee, I wonder if We are all seeing the same episode? IT was just thinking that the guys was solely in fantasy. NO Condoms is a common fantasy. It is hot that's why we think about it. I know guys that are online and has and their whole meeting, fucking and breaking up happens solely in their minds....
