Super+Hero

In honor of the new Batman movie, Coffee Talk will focus on the life achievements of... superheroes. An 'incredible' and 'fantastic' conversation is sure to be had as we discuss our favorite superheroes, sinister villains, and of course, 'if you could have one super power....' Jeremiah will buy tickets to Batman: The Dark Knight for anyone who dresses in a FULL superhero costume!* This is our last Coffee Talk in July so be sure to bring friends and sidekicks.

Rippling muscles and other body parts wrapped tightly in a shiny spandex suit, what’s not to love about a superhero?

A certain parallel in stories exist; a social misfit transforms into an iconic superhero identity, now loved by everyone, and hated no one. A homosexual misfit transforms into a new identity with his sexuality, through coming out.. The superhero romanticizes the process, through his transformation the hero becomes masculine, vigilant, all while sporting a beautiful physique; how dreamy. This is one viable reason why homosexuals discover, associate, and even romanticize identify with a superhero.
